SOCAR Tower, located on Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Baku, stands as one of Azerbaijan's tallest buildings at 209 meters. Construction began in 2010 and was completed in 2016. This 42-story skyscraper serves as the headquarters of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). Designed by South Korea's "Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd," the building embodies the "wind and fire" concept. SOCAR Tower features modern office spaces, conference and sports facilities, a guest house, retail outlets, and dining areas. It is engineered to withstand wind speeds of up to 190 km/h and earthquakes measuring 9 on the Richter scale.
